ATELIER WEST offers one-on-one printmaking instruction in a private fine art studio. The studio offers instruction in relief printmaking, including collograph, lino block and wood block printing, as
well as instruction in dry point, etching on copper using Edinburg etch, and silicone lithography printing. ATELIER WEST also offers printing instruction in a group setting and is willing to travel to
community settings. The Studio has a portable table top press that is suitable for printing drypoint, relief and collograph plates in a workshop setting. Communal workshop situations are limited
to 15 participants, and require 8 participants as a minimum number. Enquire about rates. Depending on the medium (relief, collograph, etc.) the rates will vary. Atelier West works on a CARFAC
minimum fee schedule of $400.00/day for the artist, plus mileage, plus accommodation, plus per diem for meals. Instruction is usually over a minimum of a 3 day period to allow maximum information
dissemination and the opportunity for all workshop participants to have hands-on experience in developing the matrix and printing. Communal workshop situations use waterbased inks. One-on-one
instruction in the printshop will use oil based inks. The studio is equipped with good ventilation, and unless the workshop participant requests water based inks, oil will be used.
