9/11 showed us the terror they were capable of. The wars that followed showed us the terror we were capable of becoming. Shamed and enraged by the reports and images of abuse coming out of Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, Bagram, and the renditioning of innocent citizens to torture black sites around the world, the Writer sets out to create a play protesting these atrocities and what he believes is his forced complicity in them. The horrific nature of the dark material brings on a psychotic break and initiates a lonely journey of terrible discovery. Pity the Flesh is the chronicle of that journey.

Written and Performed by Frank Barry. Design by Rhonda Pelley. Lighting Design by Brian Bishop.
