A “time” from the Dictionary of Newfoundland English is defined as; “a party or celebration, especially a communal gathering with entertainment”. In Newfoundland a ‘time’ has always been of the utmost importance – when life is hard, it’s an escape from the day to day grind, when life is good, it’s a celebration of the glorious independence of spirit. So, come, sit back, have a few cups, clap your hands, tap your toes and revel in an evening of recitations and traditional Newfoundland music!
