The workshop is free, but space is limited. Those interested in participating must be able to attend from 12-5pm on both days (Sunday and Monday, September 5-6) and should contact the gallery via email at easternedgegallery@gmail.com.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS Yorodeo is the name of screen-printing art team Seth Smith and Paul Hammond, who partnered in 2003 primarily to design and create screen-printed show posters for local events. Over the last few years they have focused their collaborative energy on fine art and posters, among other projects. Their work has taken many forms from hand-printed poster art, to limited edition cards and DIY ephemera, to larger scale art prints. Aesthetically, Yorodeo draws from pop culture and fantasy, combining collage, drawing, texture and re-constructed patterns to create loud, busy images packed with competing elements. The collaborative nature of the work creates a defining quality. Recently they have been attempting to push the limits of two-dimensional screen-printed images by exploring the process of anaglyphic 3D image making, as well as screen-printed sculptural paper-craft. Yorodeo’s most recent work has focused heavily on collaborative drawing – working to blur the lines between individually drawn elements and create images that cannot easily be deconstructed into the work of two separate people.
