    The duties of this position include coordination and supervision of a technical staff of seven, evaluation of all technical aspects of the theatre’s productions with regard to building, scheduling and budgeting, and other duties related to the position of Technical Director. A detailed job description is available upon request.

    The Gros Morne Theatre Festival is a summer repertory theatre festival operated by Theatre Newfoundland Labrador. For its 2010 season, the Festival will produce a five plays – 3 mainstage shows and 2 second stage shows.

    This position requires 3-5 years relevant professional experience. Candidates versed in lighting and sound, as well as technical direction, would be an asset.

    A valid driver’s license is an asset. The equivalent of a NL class 4 (chauffeur) is a definite asset.

    The Festival provides return travel (by most economical method) for successful applicants.

    The Festival provides shared housing (with a housing fee/damage deposit) in the community for company members.

    League of Artists of Western Newfoundland will be part of Tales, Trails and Tunes

    in Rocky Harbour from May 14-23, 2010. The organization is seeking proposals

    from interested parties for the position of curator of this exhibition. The successful

    candidate would be responsible for:

    1. Selecting the theme of the exhibition in partnership with the

    organizing committee of Tales, Trails and Tunes.

    1. Selecting the successful artwork from the call for work which

    would be circulated among LAWN membership.

    1. Informing successful artists that their work has been chosen

    for exhibition.

    1. A 800-1000 word overview of the exhibition which would be used

    as part of a fold-over brochure to accompany the exhibition.

    Artists will be required to submit digital images of their work for consideration in

    the exhibition, which will facilitate the choosing of the work. Two-dimensional work must be no

    larger than 30" wide to facilitate the hanging of the work on our portable doors.

    Length should be no longer than 40".

    The successful candidate must adhere strictly to the timeline which will be given

    by LAWN in order to ensure that LAWN exhibition committee members and artists

    are able to install the work at the appropriate venue, and at the appropriate time.

    Skill Requirements:

    Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
    Proven ability to prepare marketing proposals with a blend of focused research, strategy and creativity.
    Familiarity with web development and dynamic graphical user interfaces.
    Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position.
    Requires excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write edit and revise documentation on a variety of technical subjects.
    Must be a self-starter, team oriented with an ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects bringing them to successful completion.
    Qualifications:
    Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

    A minimum of 3-5 years technical writing experience is required.
    Knowledge of the Aerospace & Defense industry is required.
    Experience writing promotional material and proposals is required.
    Knowledge of Surveillance Technologies would be an asset.
