Angela Antle
Bio
Angela Antle lives in St. John’s with her husband, two kids and a loopy dog.
A proud MUN grad with a BA (honours) in Political Science and a MA (Journalism) from The University of Western Ontario, Angela also studied fine arts at The Ontario College of Art and Design and spent a year studying art history and painting in Florence at OCAD's Italian studio.
A painter working in encaustic, Angela is represented in Newfoundland by The Christina Parker Gallery and in Montreal by The Sandra Goldie Gallery. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the City of St. John's have both collected her work. This summer her paintings will be featured at The Rooms in a two-person exhibit called "The Flood at Furnace Cove."
Angela has worked at CBC Radio for over 15 years because she adores the simplicity and intimacy of the medium and uses its powerful storytelling capability to compose a snapshot of the province’s cultural scene every Saturday and Sunday morning on WAM. She also co-created and hosted CBC Radio's first national program about visual arts
called "SOCKET."
Angela is currently marrying her work life and artwork to create a sound art installation as part of The Shorelines Project.
