Bio
The Nickel is a five day celebration of independent film that takes place each year in June in St. John's. Local films as well as those created by filmmakers from around the world are feature in 7 screenings through the week. Genres include narrative drama and comedy, documentary, experimental, children's, music video and horror films in both short and feature lengths. The Nickel Festival also features live performances from artists in the literary, music, dance and theatre community.
Throughout the year, the Nickel runs special events, screening tours, and film workshops for the film industry and the general public.
